Diaspora Features

Fascist movements are crossing borders, fueled by xenophobia. Hatred towards immigrants and migrants is on the rise globally, and cinema is reflecting this harsh reality. The result is this year's edition of Diaspora Features. The official selection includes 794 films, with a notable shift toward feature films. This change reflects global filmmakers' growing commitment to engaging with contemporary diaspora issues. Our thanks go to the teams of Park, LArirang, Shahid, The Land of Morning Calm, Shiso, When the Phone Rang, K-Number, and Call me Agnes, all of which are official submissions to the festival. We're also excited to welcome the latest works of renowned masters, whose upcoming films are always eagerly anticipated. Additionally, alumni filmmakers, who have previously participated in the festival, are returning with new projects. The front lines of solidarity, growing through Diaspora Film Festival, continue to expand year by year. The values of diversity and coexistence are more important than ever, and they are at the heart of the festival. (Hyuksang Kimsan)
