Performance by "MONTANT", the Multicultural Transnational Chorus

On the 27th of July, after the screening of < I Wanna Sing > , a documentary film about "MONTANT", the Multicultural Transnational Chorus, the chorus members will come on the stage to perform.

"MONTANT" is an art culture group, consisting of members from 8 different countries. (Korea, Mongolia, the U.S.A, Indonesia, China, Tibet, the Philippines, and Myanmar) Through a variety of cultural and artistic activities, "MONTANT" aims to transform the perception of multiculturalism. "MONTANT" is a social enterprise that produces culture and art services that enable people to embrace a new culture, gain the power to respect diversity, and share different values and ways of thinking.

When Film met Book

Prior to the festival, we have conducted a special pre-program called 'When Film met Book'. It took place at Incheon Yeonsu Library every Saturday from the 28th of June to the 19th of July. The program continues at the 2nd Diaspora Film Festival; shining light on books and films about 'Diaspora'. We invite you to talk together about the diverse immigrants who live in Korea. This event takes place shortly after the screening of .

    • The key to social development is to digress from ethnocentrism and accept multiculturalism. Diverse cultures of immigrants bring prosperity and vigor to Korean society. This book reminds us of the value and significance of coexistence, which is what a multicultural society intends to achieve.
    • lecturer : Gwak Myeong-dong (author of a reading essay ¡¸Specific Happiness to Specific Human Beings¡¹)
      Born in 1972 at Busan, Gwak began his carrier in 2000 at Kyunghyang.com. He writes reviews of films and performances. Together with Jung Gang-hyeon from Joongang Daily, Gwak is a host of the podcast , a podcast on humanities, films, and poems. 'Specific Happiness to Specific Human Beings' is his motto. He reads to live so.

Exhibition

Observe the process of an animated film. Original sketches, character designs, storyboards, opening night posters of diverse countries, original sketches of the graphic novel of the same title will be on display. Jung's childhood family photographs, adoption documents, and more precious items personally provided by the director himself will also be exhibited. Please enjoy the exhibition and give a thought to overseas adoptees. This exhibition is sponsored by Bucheon International Student Animation Festival.

UNICEF project #AwooForEveryChild (workshop) + ¡®I introduce my little Awoo¡¯ (exhibition)

Make a Doll! Save a Child! The 2nd Diaspora Film Festival conducts a workshop in collaboration with UNICEF; #AwooForEveryChild. At the workshop, children make their own 'Awoo' and adopt. The adopted dolls will be exhibited at 'I introduce my little Awoo', where they will be introduced as a family member. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to learn about the children in need around the world and understand the true meaning of sharing.
