9th Diaspora Film Festival Non-competitive sections are now open!
The 9th DIAFF will take place May 21(Fri) - 23(Sun) 2021 at Incheon Metropolitan city, Korea. The schedule is subject to change due to the festival circumstance.
Submissions are accepted between December 28th and February 14th 24:00 (KST).
We look forward to seeing your work that tell the story of Diaspora living all over the world!
1. Objectives
DIAFF is a non-competitive film festival for films with themes on migration, refugees and separation, in the hopes of representing the voices of those who have lost their homes or were forced to relocate from the cities and towns where they built their lives.
2. DIAFF aims
¡Ü to shed light on the contemporary issue of diaspora in broader context.
¡Ü l to share with the general public the values of tolerance for difference and diversity.
¡Ü l and to build empathy and solidarity with the minorities.
3. Dates and Venue
The 9th DIAFF will take place May 21(Fri) - 23(Sun) 2021 at Incheon Metropolitan city, Korea. The schedule is subject to change due to the festival circumstance.
4. Sections
The festival program is divided into following 5 sections:

¡Ü Cinema Picnic
¡Ü The Eye of Diaspora

5. Film Submission
1) Eligibility
a. Production Date: All submitted films should be works produced after January 2019.
- There is no precondition of premiere or prior screening.
- Exception for general invitation films.
b. Genre/Length: Films of all genres and lengths are considered for the selection.
c. Subtitles:
- Non-English speaking films must have subtitles or a transcript of the dialogue in English for both preview and screening copies.
- Non-Korean speaking films must have Korean Subtitles from the entry level.
e. Others:
- Any nationality and language can participate.
- A preview copy must be the same cut as the actual screening copy. If screening copy is different from the preview, it should be informed to the festival immediately
- Material submitted for pre-selection will not be returned.
2) Formats
a. Production Format/Size: all formats are acceptable including film and digital.
b. Screening Format/Size: DCP/Digital (other formats only upon request).

- All submissions require English language subtitles except films in English or have no dialogue.
- Attached video file or send the link, i.e., Vimeo *strictly with password
- Recommended file condition,

Codec: H.264
Size: 3GB(Max), recommend 2GB maximum

4) Submission
a. December 28th (Mon), 2020 ~ February 14th (Sunday) 24:00 (KST), 2021
b. The completed entry form downloaded from the official website (www.diaff.org) along with the preview screener should be submitted via email below. Please double-check the address of the preview link, if any, before sending.
